Older than Angkor Wat, and not crowded by Groups.. It´s a bit out of the way so if you´re lucky you might have the place for yourself. Visit in the afternoon, or very early morning, when the light sipping through the trees hopefully makes great photograhy conditions. This is a series of temples built a century or two before Angkor Wat -- of bricks rather than sandstone, although probably a design model. A mildly interesting introduction to Ankor Wat, but only those with real knowledge and interest in the history will think the long bumpy dirt road detour from Siem Reap worthwhile - at least, when taken by us in December 2010, after the Wet Season, but before any road leveling had been attempted.
