We really enjoyed our visit here. We did the woodland walk which was a good stretch and then enjoyed exploring the castle and gardens. We had a decent coffee in the restaurant and generally had a good time.

Whereas this building looks amazing it falls short from a visit perspective. Maybe it's because it's out of season which I appreciate but we can't all visit these sights at high season. I understand that the state rooms are closed but give me a bit more information about the parts of the building I can visit rather than just walking... More

We visited the castle during the Autumn Half Term Holliday along with our two grandchildren. There was plenty going on to keep the children occupied . An area has been set out to allow dens to be made ropes attached to the trees to act as swings.Pumpkins were on sale at a reasonable price and there was a pumpkin trail through... More

We skipped the house tour and headed straight for the magnificent gardens with their fantastic vista. We had what I would describe as a brisk stroll around as many of the... More

We visited Chirk Castle on Sunday 18th December 2016, so our grandchildren could see Father Christmas. This is by far one of best Father Christmas's I have seen he was really good with the kids, the grandson, who is 4, was totally mesmerised by Father Christmas as he spoke to his 8 month old sister. You didn't feel under any... More

Owls, roasting chestnuts, braziers and mummers in the courtyard. The castle is gorgeous too. Great day out.

We visited here with family and had a long look round the castle and gardens. We visited on a day when a battle reenactment society were onsite there were mini battles and mock ups of the camps then later in the day a big battle which was amazing.
