Visit regularly to see the changing colours in the gardens. We also take the grandchildren (ages 3 and 6) because they love it. There is always something different for them to discover and do - from searching for fairy doors in the woods, playing in...More

I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl and now take my niece and nephew here when they are on their term holidays. I absolutely love it here, and the events are always fantastic

Really enjoyed our visit here yesterday. So many things to do for all ages and all the staff were exceptionally helpful and really informative about the place.

Enjoyed a few hours at the Castle looking at the house decorated through the ages. The courtyard was set out as in Medieval times and was very interesting. We ate pottage for lunch and a very sweet (meant to be savoury) mince pie.

Really enjoyed our visit to Chirk castle dispite the weather! 'Christmas through the ages' left me feeling very festive. It beat Christmas shopping, fighting the crowds, and illustrated the true meanings and values of the festive season that is so missing in today's society. ♥...More

Chirk Castle is interesting for a visit of a few hours. The guided tour is very interesting with a lot of stories of the people who once lived in the castle. Apart from the tour other parts of the castle can be visited without guidance,...More

After a longer than anticipated walk up to the castle and a rejuvenating cuppa in the cafe, we went for a ‘behind the scenes’ tour of the Castle. It was officially closed during the week but at weekends they open for these tours and we...More

Lucky enough to visit on a beautiful autumn day. Kids loved exploring castle and gardens, views fantastic. Well worth visiting . Also eat in cafe and was impressed they did gluten free fish fingers for my sons children's meal.

We only live 20mins away but often there. Last year absailed down the wall. Plenty for grandchildren and youngsters to do. Yes bit of a walk up but there is a minibus. Last time was only 3 weeks ago.

It's quite steep with a hairpin bend. Some of our group took the NT minibus up to the castle and back again. If you have difficulty walking up slopes, I suggest you take the minibus to visit the castle. The setting and the... More

There is a little trek from the entrance to the castle of about ten minutes or you can take the mini bus which runs back and forth all day

It is very steep. With a power assisted wheelchair you should have no problems as long as you have a full battery charge. Need to be careful on the downward journey but would be "do able". Enjoy
