- Pete NPortland, Oregon260 contributionsGreat Sunday activityOur second time at this market and would recommend to anyone. Beautiful setting on marina with views of the water and mountains. All kinds of crafts/goods, great food selections and a couple different live music locations.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 12 April 2024
- littlemomma_1955 🏝️Riviera Nayarit, Mexico4,466 contributionsOpening Day at the La Cruz MarketThe Sunday market in La Cruz is easily one of my favorites. The setting along the marina and the pacific is so relaxing. Over the last several years, I’ve had to pleasure to get to know many of the vendors. They include customer made clothing, artisans jewelry, fresh local produce, leather goods, artworks, baked goods, local Mexican art and the food court with freshly prepared foods. Some of my personal vendor favorites are fresh pasta, juices, Argentinian grilled meats, Italian sausages, fresh hummus, of course the fresh veggies. They now have a tequila and cerveza vendor too, for those who want an adult beverage. TY bikinis y más will custom make a dress or skirt in the fabric and size of your choosing, if she doesn’t have it that day. And there is always live music in the amphitheater with seating and shade. There is ample parking and a lovely way to spend your Sunday morning.Visited November 2024Travelled soloWritten 3 November 2024
- Carolyn JAnchorage, Alaska668 contributionsA market to rememberThis was our second visit to this market. It is bigger and even better. And you cann't beat the setting on the water. You will find a variety of quality items, whether handmade clothing or handicrafts or whatever. At the far end of the market, there is a food court with lots of great eats. Some places take credit cards; others take cash only. There is no ATM nearby. Be sure to wear a hat because the sun will be blazing. It is a very nice place for an outdoor outing on a lovely, lazy day. Plan on two to three hours so that you can see everything.Visited December 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 20 December 2024

We took the bus from Puerto Vallarta ( in front of Walmart) for the 35-40 minute trip to La Cruz for the Sunday market. There are actually 2 markets; one in the town square and one all along the marina.
Heading from the bus stop to the marina, you’ll need to descend some steep steps without handrails. Once at the marina, however, it’s easy to walk around. The marina Mercado has a wide assortment of health foods, local artists, services and novelties...in general, the offerings were high quality and presented in an appealing manner. Most of the art work, photography etc is contemporary.
There are at least 2 outdoor music offerings complete with benches and big, foam cubes to sit on. Food venders are nearby so you “dine” and watch the show.
The town Mercado has more traditional artisan offerings and can be found in the town square. Both markets are free. There are restrooms adjacent to the town square Mercado. You’ll need to pay 5 pesos to use them..the attendants will give you a couple of squares of TP as you go in...
It’s a fun atmosphere. A mix of people and generally, a friendly and welcoming vibe.

This was our second visit to the Sunday La Cruz market. Would recommend you get there early as the crowds can get large (although safe overall and friendly). There is a wide variety of Mexican art, crafts, food and more. Would recommend you start at the end leisurely walking back towards town. Stop by the fish market for the catch of the day, however, try to make it all the way to the town square. There is a Catholic church there were we were warmly welcomed event though we are not Catholic nor Mexican.

I love going to this market! It has so many vendors and so much good food! Such a variety of everything and I love watching the crafters making their goods. The artists stand by their paintings and bakers are so proud to sell their delicious goodies. It's a wonderful way to spend time on a breezy morning on the water. Also, many entertainers and live music all day. Casual and relaxing, don't expect anyone to move fast or you'll just frustrate yourself. Slow down and enjoy this wonderful market. Note: if you have a stroller, don't get frustrated about people not waiting for you to pass or get through, too many people here to make special pathways for strollers, really, keep that in mind if you have little ones.

Sunday morning market walking the pier with local artisans featuring their crafts for tourist prices, and some local street food vendors. Beware of greedy merchants and inflated prices for local souvenirs and clothing. There is a local crocodile in the marina somewhere, hence the many warning signs to watch your dog.

Such an enjoyable and beautiful experience in the sun, by the marina. The market gets bigger every year and the vendors offer wonderful choices, especially the food. From clothing, art and jewelry to local offerings and specialty items, there is something for everyone. And don’t forget to stop at Osos for lunch and live music!

We have always loved the Puerto Vallarta Saturday market, but had a chance to visit La Cruz when visiting some friends there. This market seemed bigger and had a bit more variety in the arts, crafts and other offerings. Food was very interesting with some great looking items. Not much Asian thought (which is available in PV). Prices were similar and the setting around the marina makes for a very pleasant time. Worth the bus ride to visit.

This market is huge! Ive been to a lot of artisan markets in the States and this one was the best I have ever seen! There is fine art from local artisans, crafts, tshirts and clothing and produce. There are also an amazing array of food sellers..baked goods, yummy tacos made right in front of you and beverages! This is definitely worth attending on Sunday. Get there early..it gets crowded and they definitely are done at 2 pm. Dont forget to make your way down to the Fish Market also!

This is a must do if you happen to be here on a Sunday. Great market with local vendors selling original art, crafts, food, etc. It was an excellent way to spend the better part of a day. It’s right on the waterfront so it’s really nice to walk around

We went to the market on a cloudy Sunday from Bucerias, taxi was 170 pesos. The market was a wonderful find. I enjoyed shopping at the local artisan booths, finding unique "treasures". The "food court" offered a big variety of foods. I was surprised at the size of the market; along the entire marina. Make sure to give yourself enough time to explore the market. This is definitely on my must do list for return visits to the area

Sunday’s are an incredible day in La Cruz. Visit the market to see local talented artists selling their original works. The food is incredible and the fish market surpasses expectations. If you are close to La Cruz get there!
