About
Flevonice is a Sports & Funpark in the Netherlands, located in the wonderful green environment of region Flevoland. We encourage a sportive lifestyle by offering activities related to sports and fun! During the summer, our visitors enjoy a variety of watersports (wakeboarding, water obstacle course, and stand up paddleboarding), conquer our obstacle run parcours (of 3km, 6km, 9km or Kids course), set the fastest lap on our drift kart track, play a game of footgolf or enjoy multiple sports on wheels in our circuit park. In winter, we transform our accomodation to the traditional ice skating experience including the world's longest ice skating rink.

Big team day with obstacle run team. I brought my daughter and a friend of my daughter's. Kids were ten years old at the time.
Water bit was closed, but we could run the rest of the track. Very nice rjn with loads of different obstacles of varying difficulty. Accommodation was excellent: warm showers, large dressing room, plenty of seats on the terrace. Children also enjoyed the playground. Personnel was pretty much absent.

Flevonice started out as a 5 km open water simulation artificial ice track. When it fell on hard times the track was shortened to 3 km. It is far away from everything, a 1 hour drive from Amsterdam, so you have to plan to go there. The window for the track to be open en skating being enjoyable is pretty small. In December the temperatures where high so the track was closed, when it is open wind is a big factor since the track is completely open in the landscape. Skating has a feel of doing it on open water compared to skating on a well maintained 400 m track. The track is smaller than I expected so when it is crowded this can be a disadvantage for the faster skaters. All by all it is not to bad. Besides skating there is a ice patch for (small) children, a big play ground and skootercar track.

We went there with a group of colleagues because they woudn't let us cancell even though it was raining. In the end only 3 out of the group of 15 went out on the ice but they all came back inside after a few minutes because there was more water then ice.

We really enjoyed the obstacle course and water park with a group of 60 13 year olds. It was well organised and the students loved the activities. For €15 per student, including snacks, lemonade and french fries afterwards, it was a memorable school trip. A video of our experience can be found on youtube.
