Apart from the popular places in the city like Victoria Memorial, Howrah Bridge, Indian Museum, Kalighat Kali Temple another divine place to visit is - Belur Math. Located on the bank of Hooghly River "Ramkrishna Math" says its story.

Experiance was awesome . But the authorities loot the disciple by saying free prasadam , but when you go to ask Coupon they ask to put donation of INR 100 . Which they could have asked directly to pay for prasadam . Why they have to promot free prasadam . Prasadam was tasty and made of full blessings

Kolkata is a historic but congested, dirty and noisy city but presents opportunities to immerse in spiritual and/or cultural experience. Belur Math is a great place to visit. Located on the River Ganges (Ganga), this place is kept immaculately clean. The buildings are beautiful. This is where Swami Vivekanand received his spiritual commencement from Ramakrishna Paramhansa. Check the visiting hours... More

this place on the bank of the sacred river Ganges is the most serene and peaceful place we have ever been too. I went there during durga puja and the overall experience van not be written in words. You will fing greenery every where and cool winds blowing across the ganges to relax your stressed soul. Evening prayers arranged are... More

Good place for a day outing on side of Ganges. it's head quarter of Ramakrishna math. You will get little bore if you are planning for full day if you are not in group.

I had visited this beautiful peaceful temple complex during my recent trip to Kolkata. I had visited this place before also few years ago when I had gone in the morning and enjoyed hot yummy lunch served by followers of Saint Ramkrishna and Swami Vivekananda. This time around I had visited in the afternoon when the temple opens at 3.30... More

This is a must place to visit if you are visiting Kolkatta. It is so peaceful and serene. As soon as you enter the place you can feel some power of spiritualness. Ram Krishna museum is very informative. We had gone there in the evening and ware able to participate in the Sandhaya aarti. I would highly recommend it. Sitting... More

Many visit this place as a place that Shri. Ramakrishna Paramahamsa set up and where Swami Vivekananda lived but dont here for a visit - come here to contemplate on life and meditate - this is a place that is meant for that and not as a picnic spot. That's what it has sadly become. The place is closed between... More

Come early just to sit and enjy the peace and serenity of the place. The temple does not open until 10 AM but there is plenty to see. They serve a hot luch for all at noon. It is simply amazing to watch them serve hundreds of people at once. Simple but hot and fresh. The vegetables are picked from... More

I lived near Belur math all my life but I can't think why I have never been there until I was in college. It's peaceful, calm and beautiful. It's a place where you sit and forget your worries. Listening to the arti in the evening keeps you to close to your inner self and rise above hurdles. No matter how... More
