I have skied at almost fifty ski stations in the world and the Masikryong Ski Resort is the best so far. Well-kept, accessible slopes, amazing stay at the hotel and I could relax at the swimming pool after a long day in the ski slopes....More

A huge, modern and spectacular hotel in the middle of nowhere, this hotel is the hub of the ski resort. I went there in Autumn as I am not a skier but enjoyed the amenities and the views. The hotel foyer is modern and vast,...More

Out of season, so no snow, but the hotel room was stunning and the trip up by gondola great fun. The bar stocks German beers.

Has the potential to be a very nice ski resort. Multiple runs served by multiple chair lifts. Ski shop looks ready to rent a variety of equipment. Hotel staff speak good English. The hotel facilities are the best I saw in the DPRK.

Pros: cheap. €40 for full day ski + ski retail + clothing, or €30 for full day ski + ski rental. Slopes are mostly empty. Cons: lifts are slow. Takes 4 hours drive from Pyongyang. Snow probably made with tears

I don't always ski, but when I do, I do it in unexpected places, and this must be one of the strangest options imaginable. The place is a 3-4 hour fascinating drive across the country from Pyongyang. The resort was brand new when I visited,...More

I stayed at this resort for two nights. It was not what I expected at all. It was immaculate, brand new and shiny and done to a great standard. The piste itself is very decent with 5 blue and one red runs. Snow was powder...More

I would suggest December or later. I was there in October (as a non-skier) and it was cold but no frost or snow/ They also have snow making machines but do ask KITC or the company that you are planning to travel with.

There will be no snow whatsoever in Masik in June of any year. The season is relatively short, and any skiing after the end of March will be difficult to do. Ideally you should be there in February, when there is probably... More
