If you're nearby in Granada, you must see Laguna de Apoyo. Most travellers visit for the day but I highly recommend staying the night. The Laguna is beautiful with incredibly clean, warm water.

This was one of my favorite things on my trip. Laguna de Apoyo is a clean, blue, and thermally vented body of water contained inside the crater of the Masya Volcano (think big warm clean lake!). Laguna de Apoyo is one of Nicargua’s most beautiful natural wonders. It is a great place to rest, relax, swim, kayak or to just... More

Mirador De Apoyo is definitely worth a visit. The view of Laguna De Apoyo from the top of the mountain is magnificent. 20 cordobas to park the car. Banos was 5 cordobas. Lot of stores to buy trinkets and other local stuff. We were staying in San Simian Lodge, and google maps was able to give precise directions from the... More

We recently rented a house on the lake and spent 2 days kayaking, hiking, and swimming. The wildlife is incredible. We saw monkeys and toucans. Great place for nature lovers

Some garbage floating in the water. Strangely there are a lot of fires burning at the periphery, but I was positioned at a part of the laguna by a pier away from it. Gorgeous view from all directions, especially Catarina. Tranquil waters. Small current that brings you back to a rocky shore. Bring flip flops to manage the shore walk.... More

Laguna de Apoyo - a lake within a crater with an INCREDIBLE VIEW that just on the other side of a small strip of land is Lake Nicaragua. I've been here a couple times before but I on't recall then noticing there are some houses & hotels dotting the lake's age. I'd be curious to go stay there some time!!... More

We spent some time at La Vista Restaurant and enjoyed the view. It was a nice getaway from Managua, between Masaya and Granada.

Located about twenty minutes from downtown Granada, this quiet and idyllic crater lake offers hostels, rustic hotels, eateries, and all kind of water activities. The water is almost blood warm, and the view from any aspect is awesome! Day and overnight trips from Granada are offered by various agencies.

Really loved this place only went for a day and a night but had a great time. Night swimming in the stunning water moon light was magic. During the day it can get a light windy so a few small waves. Kayaking was fun. Stay at the Laguna beach club (read review) shared scan to get back as $15-20 to... More
