A warm-water (31°c) volcanic crater lake. Shelves quite steeply from the edges but there are a few beaches of sorts. Pretty view, great for swimming but stay in shallows as only a few metres out it is quickly 30m, then 100m+ deep.

The Apoyo Lagoon outside of Masaya is well worth the trip from any city. If you're in Granada or Leon, it's a day trip. The Lagoon was formed by a volcano. It is beautiful and the park has an excellent viewpoint to it. There are...More

We went for a half day and stayed at Paradiso, Great choice 😄! Food is good, view is great, lagoon is peaceful and beautiful, access to kayaks and donuts. What a nice chilled afternoon! Free coffee and last ride is 4pm i believe.

We viewed Apoyo from above at Catalina-gorgeous ! Then went to a beach club (LBC:Laguna Beach Club) to swim , kayak, picnic, paddle boat all day. Warm waters but there's a quick drop off so if not a strong swimmer wear a life jacket.

This lake is just beautiful. Warm water to swim in and just a great way to spend a day as a day trip from Granada. We loved it.

Stayed at a retreat on the lake to get away from the hustle and bustle of Grenada. Tranquil lake with really clear water and a constant 30 degree temperature! Lovely to relax in, although not much else to do there so just come to chill...More

Beautiful getaway from Granada. The water is lovely and warm and there are lots of activities such as kayaking, paddle boarding or simply lying in the sun taking in the stunning surroundings.

There are several resorts on the laguna and a few in walking distance. I stayed at Casa Marimba. The ones on the lakefront property will be much more expensive . I would look at all options and amenities before making a... More

Get a cheap hotel and then search for a local house for rent with the local people. If you're planning to retire here I imagine that at least you speak Spanish fluently right ? So just walk around the small shops and sure... More
