Gelato For Days...and Cheese...and Chocolate Milk

This is my all time favourite local cheese factory. The little store is welcoming with tons of samples! Also has a beautiful covered deck that is great to sit out on in the summer.

We went in expecting something special, were we disappointed. It is very pretty from the outside. When we entered the girl barely acknowledged us (we were the only customers there). She was busy cutting up cheeses. We expected to be offered samples in order to promote their products, we weren't. After looking around for about 10 minutes, and still not... More

Some people try, some don't try. Fox Hill falls in to the latter category. Yes you can sample a few different types of cheese, but the store, the setting and everything regarding Fox Hill is a let down. I drove with my wife from Halifax to visit, and it was such a let down. Fortunately there is much more to... More

We bought gelato here. It tasted refreshing after our Cape Split Hike, but we thought flavors were better in the U.S. The chocolate tasted a tad bitter and the pineapple mango tasted more like vanilla mango. We also bought some smoked gouda cheese, which was very tasty but not as good as what we make at home with our cold... More

Whenever we're going to the Valley, we always find a way to go here. Their gelato is to die for, ditto for their chocolate milk. :-)

My husband and I stopped in to Fox Hill Cheese House today as part of a Starr's Point Tour. We ended up trying the gelato, which was great! He had the apple pie, and I had the raspberry. The apple pie was creamier than the raspberry, and tasted like a whole pie! The raspberry was definitely well flavored. Both were... More

I am happy that my village has a farm which produces the cheese and gelato which I love. I love the pastoral setting, the timber frame picnic spot next to the cheese house, and I have great respect for the staff hired by the cheese house as they know the story well.

We stopped around noon on Sunday, and despite the hours on the sign, they were experimenting with opening a bit sooner, so we were let in. There were no samples, but the coolers had plenty of cheeses from which to select, including a "picnic pack" of three types of cheeses. Unfortunately, the baskets of bread from a local bakery were... We had Reed all to ourselves when we arrived at Fox Hill on Thursday afternoon. He brought out a sample board with 12 different kinds of cheese and encouraged us to try them all! We saw a bit of the making and packaging process through the large windows and read the information on the boards then spent a few minutes... More

Arrived late afternoon on a Sunday, there were no samples available, very little cheese left to buy, poor selection of gelato and no fresh bread Staff explained that due to tour buses coming all week products were not replenished. Credit card machine broken. Would not except American currency at exchange rate. Very disappointing.

Thank Martin G
