We made the trek to Playa Blanca after reading it was a hidden gem. Well, it is no longer hidden! The beach was packed with people and was not close to the nicest beach we have visited in Costa Rica. The water was very choppy...More

This is a great local hidden gem. Park at Playa Mantas, cost $4 to park. Walk around the point to the south (or climb the crossover with good shoes). Playa Blanca has shaded picnic tables and benches, also a lifeguard on duty (aligned perfectly with...More

Great quiet white sand beach near Herradura. A little walk to get to from the public side but well worth the effort. Saw a white faced monkey there as well.

I had heard you can snorkel but we had lots of nice waves when we visited. Lovely white sand, accessible via Playa Mantas at low tide. Good amount of shade. Quiet little cove.
