Carini castle and the surrounding medieval town is one of the best preserved in Sicily. The views are stunning and it is really fun to wander around the castle, which now hosts a puppet museum. There are also lots of cool little bars tucked in around the castle walls. You can also rent the castle for your private event.

We were told from our landlady that this Castello was a must see. We found our way up the hillside to be rewarded by a fabulous view of Capaci, Trevento and Isola delle Feminne. We explored the castle and came across some fabulous antique marinonettes and mannequins with period costumes. The town of Carini is quaint with a fabulous church... More

My daughter and I arrived in the early afternoon, just about they time they were closing for a few hours for lunch. Being a little sneaky, we found an open door and sneaked in for a little time to roam around and experience the beauty of the interior of the castle and the view from the upper windows. Just beautiful!

The guide who showed us around was very knowledgeable and friendly. He related the history of the castle and how it evolved. Internal decor is lovely and views are amazing. Worth a visit.

When I review the Google map location of Carini it is miles off the coast. When I was traveling in the area Carini was inland. What am I missing as to it's being on the coast?a

While visiting family in Carini, they took us to Castello di Carini. The kids enjoyed exploring as well as learning the sorted history of the castle.

They are still working on renovations, but this castle, and the story behind it, tell the tale of a city just over the mountains from Palermo, with its own unique and interesting history. Well worth a trip up from the highway.
