We spent the morning riding through the hillsides of Casares. Jo, the owner, matched us perfectly with horses that met our various riding abilities. My 10 year old son rode a sweet mare that was safe and reliable. While my teenage daughter rode a safe horse that allowed her to do a bit of galloping.
We signed up for the river ride. It was spectacular and unlike any other type of trail riding we have done. Galloping through the water was great fun. And Jo captured it all on video. She made an effort to take nice pictures of everyone riding throughout the trip. I would highly recommend this trail riding experience for riders of all abilities.

A big thank you to Jo and her team for a fantastic evening of family fun.
Booking and directions were all very simple.
The views on the Casares mountains (even on a hazy August evening) were superb and our 6 year old daughter had the prefect first riding experience! Lots of support and encouragement to give her the confidence to ride solo again next time… she loved leading the way on little Mateus 🐴
We will definitely visit again and are more than happy to recommend ⭐️

This was certainly one of the best experiences I've ever had. Myself (total beginner) my partner (intermediate) went on a 2 hour hack through the gorgeous Spanish countryside with Jo, Anya and 3 others.
Jo and Anya were incredibly friendly and helpful. Jo is clearly passionate about horses and truly cares for their welfare and they were all in great condition and clearly living their best lives. The horses were matched to their riders and for someone who has never ridden before, I felt immediately comfortable on my horse Galliano who was incredibly forgiving, responsive and obedient.
The hack took us through the gorgeous Casares hills and along incredibly scenic trails. We were able to take photos throughout and Jo also brought her own super-duper camera and tried her best to get a photo of us in the most scenic places.
Thank you very much Jo and we both look forward to coming again.

We did a great family ride, two adults and three kids ages 5, 7 and 9. the oldest two got their own well trained horses, and the youngest got a spirited pony that was led my one of the guides. I am not sure my youngest will cease talking about the pony and how much it loved her for the next few weeks. The one hour ride shows you some great views of the countryside, all horses well trained, short drive for us from Estepona.

I think it's safe to say Riding Fun in the Sun is my favourite place in Spain. I've been coming here for at least 6 years and, like many other regulars, I find myself planning the rest of my holiday plans around the rides every time. I have been on countless rides, from 1 hour walking rides to fast rides to the river or the beach, and they never get boring. The views are amazing and you truly get an idea of what the Spanish countryside looks like. A very big advantage over other stables in the area is that you only have to cross one road to be immersed in the beautiful Andalusian landscape. The rest of the ride, you hardly encounter any traffic.
Jo, the owner of the stable, is one of the nicest people I've met and is an excellent judge of character. She surprises me every time by matching the rider to a suitable horse without fail. All of the 14 horses are really well-behaved and there is a horse for every one. If you are a nervous rider or if you have children, they have "bombproof" horses for you. If you are an experienced rider, and you like a fast horse, they have horses that can fly like the wind.
All in all, Riding Fun in the Sun offers amazing horse riding experiences like no other, and is open to riders of all abilities and ages. I really recommend you going here, and I promise it will not disappoint :)

We are on holiday and we talked about going for a horseback ride, because we missed our own horses. We are so so happy that I wrote yesterday evening and asked if there was two horses available for us on the experienced ride.
We had the sweetest pair of horses, Hennessy and Tanqueray, and I loved how safe I felt both on the horse but also that our guide (I am terrible with people names) checked up on us and explained about the ride and where to be careful and generally kept a lookout for all of us.
The ride was beyond beautiful and the horses were relaxed but ready to have fun at the canters and we really had a wonderful time.
We will be back again next time we go on holiday.

I went on this experience with four friends who were complete beginners and were a little nervous beforehand but the horses were very calm and relaxed so they quickly gained confidence. I have some experience riding and thoroughly enjoyed it as did my friends. The horses are really well cared for and had a huge paddock which is quite rare in Andalucia. The views in the countryside were beautiful. Highly recommend for both beginners and experienced riders, we will definitely be returning.

My friend and I went fora river ride with Joannne today, my friend is a very accomplished rider, I on the other hand am not, but I have to say, what an amazing time we had, I felt very safe riding with Joannne who is very friendly but extremely professional, she made sure I was safe at all times.
We rode up through some amazing scenery, until we got to a beautiful river, which we rode along, the horses loved it too.
Absolute must for riders of all abilities and very reasonably priced....

This is a great place to come horse riding.
Fabulous countryside and great horses. The owner Jo accompanies every ride and is incredibly safe and knowledgable.
Horses very happy and well cared for.
Highly recommended for complete beginners who just want to walk and experienced riders who want a faster ride with a few canters.
Sunset rides in the Summer are sensational and Casares is an idyllic part of costa del all to visit.

I joined the 3.5 hour river ride on Sunday, and had a wonderful time! Jo was fantastic at pairing her lovely horses with us, and lead a great group into some of the best scenery I’ve witnessed in Spain. I highly recommend to everyone of all riding levels, this was an incredible experience. 10/10!

This looks amazing, especially the River Ride. I’m planning to holiday in Marbella and was wondering how we can get to the stables. Do you offer a pick up/drop off service or would a taxi be a reasonable cost? Thank you.

A taxi would probably be 60/70 euros to Casares where the stables are. Well worth the 2 hours in the national park tho, we go every few weeks.

It will take you 20 minutes approximately from Estapona, and it's 35 for 2 hours, less if you want less time. Great horses and they take you into the national park so the ride is through the hills and fields where cattle also graze

I don't think there's a weight restriction as I'm 16 stone and had a horse called Rhino, as you can guess he's a big strong horse. You'll have fun.

We are visiting Donna Julia, Casares from 27th May to 3rd June and my daughter (35) is very keen to ride with you. She has experience of riding. We wondered if it is possible for you to pick up and drop off from our apartment as we don't have transport. Also what is the cost of the ride. Many thanks Ann Dix
