A short journey from Tokyo but feels worlds apart. A beautiful place to visit. The trails to temples, shrines, waterfalls and look-outs are great - lots of stunning views. Highly recommend a visit if you appreciate the outdoors and nature.

I can't recommend you so much to hike Mt.Mitake in December. Most people use a ropeway.I'll recommend to use it.
