The Pride of Melaka with more than 500 Animals from 150 Different Species all over the world at one place. Experience the zoo in the day and also in the night with our Night Safari. Been in existence since 1963, you will get to experience Zoo in its...more
I’ve been to Zoo Negara before and never been to any other zoos in Malaysia. Needless to say, our trip there yesterday exceeded my expectation. Went there quite early in the morning and so the crowd was not as huge. We took our time to...More
A spacious zoo located very near to Ayer Keroh toll exit. In my opinion, quite well maintained for the entrance fee being charged. It was quite wet everywhere not because of poor management but the rainfall which is being the Management’s control. So, don’t complain...More
Night safari is such a waste of money and time. We were not able to see most of the animals but lion, tigers and few elephants. The show was terrible. Totally disappointed with the trip. Day zoo will be more worth going where you can...More

Despite the smallness of the zoo, my kids and I enjoy the shaded walk around the zoo. If you manage your expectation better, you may be in for a surprise! Compared to KL Zoo I find the animals in Melaka Zoo more active and healthier...More

As I know it is 9 am to 6 pm and during the weekend it is extended from 8 pm to 11 pm. Take note that Night Safari is not everyday but generally only on Fridays and Saturdays and sometimes on the even of public holidays/school holidays.
My suggestion is that you check and confirm the Night Safari is open on the date you are planning to go.
Though I have not been there myself, from what I heard from my friends and relatives, during Night Safari you can walk around freely. However do take note that the Zoo is huge. I also heard that the Night Safari is not worth the visit and not that interesting.
When I visited the Zoo recently I felt it not as well maintained or impressive as was during my previous visit 5 or 6 years ago.
