Codorniu is the oldest family run business in Spain as well as being the oldest cava estate, set in the beautiful foothills of Montserrat. Designed in the late nineteenth century by Cadafalch, a contemporary of Gaudi's, the estate oozes Catalan charm. Our hosts were gracious and informative, hugely proud of their heritage and passionate about what they do and clearly... More

We had a very pleasant stoppe and were entertained by a very sympathetic bartender which guided us though the most premium cavas at Codorniu. We had also visited Mastinell, and their cavas were better. All in all well worth the stop though.

Interesting story about the Codorniu family. Amazing buildings and underground tunnels. Good for all the family. Thought the film could have been a bit more informative. The rose cava tastes amazing!

A very nice activity one of the best things you can do if you like wine and it culture. An old and very well kept building in the oldest Spanish company. They began at 1551! A nice taste of cavas to end the visit. Do it!

Been to many wineries and typically dread the tour of the caves. Not here. Unique from beginning to end. Well worth the time and the tasting. Glad we did it.

We were on an English guided tour, which was well executed. You are driven around the property on an electric train, looking and admiring architectural masterpieces. Then tour goes inside into the production facilities, with loads of historical artefacts and cool facts about the winery. For us, the highlight was the next part - underground :) Winery has over 30... More

We booked the Mediterranean Breakfast tour (€20/head) and had a wonderful time. Our tour guide was Pep. He'd worked there 43 years. He was great and very knowledgeable. Hats off to this 17th oldest family business in Spain.

Guided visit takes you through the history of the oldest cava producer with an amazing underground cava maze where you can see really old bottles. At the end you can have cava tasting and pass by the store to buy a couple of bottles. No restaurant at the complex but a few km from Codorniu you can find the amazing... More

The entrance hall of the Cordoniu vineyard sets the tone for the rest of this site as it is a stunning high vaulted area with lots of glass. We started our tour with a journey on a small land train around the grounds to see some of the other buildings in different architectural styles. There was a recorded English commentary... More

A must visit. This is a guided tour of about 90 minutes total. We arrived late afternoon so it was not crowded but there were enough people to join a group to tour the place. Our guide Pepe was great. very funny, and had great information about the site, the wine, and cellars. His driving of the train down in... More
