Great place to spend an hour or two (not just on a rainy day). We were welcomed and given a quick run thru on what was available. Lots of really interesting stuff (and i'm not into sailing !!) on the races, boats and competitors. Quite a bit of the info is via interactive screes and there is an opportunity to... More

Tried to visit. Closed entirely on Mondays. Happily just a short walk to my hotel. There is a 10 year old competing boat on show and a Volvo XC90. Ho hum.

Management response:

We are very sorry, as you said the Museum is closed on Mondays. Hope you have the opportunity to visit us soon. Anyway, thanks for trying! More

Enjoyed our visit to this museum on a rainy morning - and we are not sailing fans. Will now watch 2017 Ocean race when its on TV with added interest. Enjoyed the interactive exhibits - learned how to use a sextant! The film in the main auditorium is well worth watching (its in english). ... but a shame that a... More

What was available was good. We enjoyed the interactive helm experience and the film on the experiences of various personnel over the history of the race. The pictures, general information, and exhibits were good. However in its own literature this museum lists it's 3 main attractions as....Brasil 1 (going on board Brasil 1), The Ride (a simulator of the experience... More

Despite this a fantastic insight into the race. Allow time for the displays and interactive stuff too. A really great movie to suit and watch with great anecdotes and moving tales from the Familiar faces of Chay Blyth and Track Edwards and others..

A lovely museum showing some of the craft from the Volvo Ocean Race series. Well played out with lots of fascinating facts about the Volvo Ocean Race series, great to get up close and personal to these craft to fully grasp their size. Situated at the entrance to the cruise port.

Well worth a visit, enjoyed looking at all the photos, watched the film show, very emotional. Made me want to see the next race if possible. Enjoyed going on the yacht in the yard, looks very uncomfortable wouldn't fancy spending months aboard,
