The Wine Museum is the oldest winery in the Canary Islands and one of the ten oldest in Spain. The current owners are the fifth generation of a family who bought it from another family in 1880. It's placed in the protected zone of "La Geria" which was covered with lava and ash after the volcanic eruptions from 1730 to 1736. Inside, you will find wine presses, pumps, crushers, stills ... etc., everything from the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. We invite you on a walk through our vineyard in the heart of la Geria and to taste our Wines. Come and visit our winery, we will be pleased to attend you

We stopped here for some local wine tasting and were not disappointed. We ordered a tasting of several wines that are served on a tray with cheeses and we were able to take it to a table and sit down and relax with our wine.. we also toured the grounds which was interesting as well. Very nice staff.

How can this be called good ? 10 Euro to enter.. look at old bits of wine making kit, tiny dribble of wine to taste. Did I miss something?

Its a bit touristy as its the largest vineyard but worth a visit. For 5 euros you get to walk round and have your choice of 1 glass of wine. Go for the Canari sweet wine - its a really good desert wine.

my wife and i opted for the 15 euro cheese and 6 wine tastings option for the 2 of us with our own tour of the museum. Lovely place, very interesting and well put together museum with good info on artefacts, a nice catus garden and of course, great wine to sample

There is a lovely old wine museum and a tasting room. They do great rose wine here and some good red and white. Surprisingly good. You can buy here and order for delivery to the UK. No suppliers in the Uk as far as we could gather which is a shame. Lovely staff and tasting.

February 9th 2017 My wife and I visited El Grifo for the 11 o'clock tour of the winery and museum at 12€ each, which included two tastings each. In the reception area we bought our tickets and were then joined by the young lady who was to be our guide. We started outside where she introduced herself as Lily and... More

This location is beautiful and they have such a wide variety of wines that we had two rounds of different wines and enjoyed them, some more than others!! It was all dependent on our different tastes but we were all happy!! The decor of the building and how they presented their wines was excellent, the young woman who served us... More

Although in February, it was not grape gathering/processing season, the tour guide, Lily, inspired the imagination and brought it all to life. Together with her extensive knowledge of the grapes, the processes invoved and a potted history of Lanzarote, she gave us a wondetful 2 hour tour at el Grifo. It was well worth €12 each, which included tasting 4... More

This is a brilliant introduction to the history of wine-making in the Canaries. This is the oldest winery in the Canary Islands. Wow! Founded 1775, so approaching the 250th anniversary in 2025. We enjoyed the self-guided tour of the museum with 19th and 20th-century artefacts as well as informative panels. The stroll through the vineyard was informative and really atmospheric.... More

We had a good selection of wines and cheeses such a hard choice after much deliberation we decided on the semi sweet and also one of the special years one save for special occasion for that one.you can also have a guided tour of the museum of artifacts used in the wine production in the past.
