Buggles Pub and B&B is a traditional pub built circa. 1800, owned and operated by three generations of the same family. Its warm, relaxing atmosphere is welcoming and the adjoining Bed and Breakfast is of the finest quality with large spacious rooms overlooking the noted Heritage Town of Kilrush. Some of our rooms overlook Kilcredane Lighthouse and the historic townland of Reaha.Kilrush has a fine Georgian streetscape, a marina, an eighteen hole golf course, Dolphin boat trips, the restored nineteenth century Vandeleur Walled Gardens, and of course the restored West Clare Railway (immortalised by Percy French: 'are you right there Michael'), the magnificent and ancient Scattery Island which contains the remains of five of seven churches, an intact 5th century, 120 feet round tower, Napoleonic battery, a light house and keepers cottage, the deserted 'street' from the 1960s is both eerie and charming. A monthly lecture series by the local Kilrush Historical Society complements many of the local activities. Kilrush is a veritable Photographers Paradise (a quick search through Flickr confirms this) and all are welcome to enjoy the music, sample the atmosphere and experience the tranquility of Kilrush topped-off with a great pint of Guinness with Shamrock atop in Buggles Pub.

Small and pokey but decent pint

Small local bar, ten people is a crowd but they do a cracking pint of Guinness and the staff are nice

Buggles is a small lovely pub. The people there where really friendly. Had a great laugh with some of the regulars. Carmel the owner was lovely. We only had a few there. But would definately go back. We visited during the day. Didn't get a chance to go back at night yime. I'd say the crack would be mightie.

Stayed here for 2 nights this week with my partner. We were given a room at the top of the house which was large and bright. Had a lovely view towards the marina. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was really good. Carmel the owner was very friendly and cooked an amazing breakfast and it was cooked to... More

Visited Kilrush with some mates many years ago. Stayed at a B+B round the corner but frequented Buggle's regularly during our stay - perhaps it would be better to say we stayed at Buggle's and frequented our B+B sometimes. The place is absolutely amazing. You never know how an evening is going to turn out and sometimes, just sometimes, you... More

We experienced Buggles as a B&B, rather than a bar. In that capacity it was very pleasant. The room was good, breakfast was excellent and the welcome warm. Our bikes were stored away very securely. Kilrush is a very pleasant town and Buggles is central. We would have appreciated more time there.

After a long international flight I knew that only one place would do for a restful sleep. Carmel's B&B was just perfect. Let alone the fantastic view and the warm reception. I will return.

Came across this good B&B by chance. We wanted a family room for the five of us. The room was very good -- clean, comfortable, good beds -- although the bathroom was small. The cooked breakfast was excellent -- very well prepared, generous and delicious.

Having decided to take the ferry from Kilimer to Kerry, we arrived into Kilrush quite late in the evening. Unfortunately we had missed the last ferry connection and drove back into the charming town of Kilrush. We spotted Buggles Pub on the first street that we turned onto and decided to stop for a quick pint of Guinness before we... More

We arrived in Kilrush in the late afternoon looking for accommodation. WE saw Buggles as we drove into the little town and thought we would stop to see if the accommodation was any good. It would have to be the best B&B we stayed in, in the whole or Ireland. The room was tastefully decorated and large. It had lots... More
