The ruins itself is not very impressive, but the scenery around the archeological site is pretty nice. A photo with the smoke coming out from the nearby active volcano is quite nice. Entrance fee is only 5 sol.

Don't expect too much and this place will exceed your expectations. Ruins by itself are not very interesting. Some buildings are partially restored, some not. But views are really great. The place is not very polished and looks very natural. Trekking is not very difficult,...More

I stayed at Killawasi Lodge in Yanque and took part in a (free) gentle 3 hour walk from the lodge to the ruins and on to the hot baths. The scenery is spectacular and there are a few ruins to see that are apparently unique...More

We walked to Uyo Uyo from Colca Lodge. It’s an OK way to spend the morning but the site has not been maintained, possibly because there is no entrance fee. It was hot so we were wearing shorts and had to brush passed the overgrown...More

To begin with a word of warning, the site which is 600 meters from the entrance is a tough climb. Steep in places and easy to put a foot wrong. We came down by continuing on past the site, that route is not easy and...More

We walked there from Colca Lodge and would strongly recommend this visit. It is a pre Inca site, you can see the houses and learn about pre Inca culture and the burial rituals with momies and tombs towers. The setting and views are very impressive,...More

Nice walk from Yanque to get there. An average attraction. Not much else to say about it. Not a big site and not a great deal of information there. Nice views across the canyon.

A great half day is to make the very scenic climb up to the ruins, enjoy the solitude and atmosphere for a bit and then continue on the trail descending to the Colca River. The first hot springs you come to past the resort are...More

The hike is not steep at all - it's actually a nice walk. It took us around 1,5 hours. I do not recall rocky paths.
