The Torre Lidador is an iconic building of this county representing the opening of a new cycle of progress and development.

Having as its primary objective the installation of municipal services, this is a key landmark to a process of sustainable development. The Torre Lidador is a reference in the city, with 92 meters high, being the 5th tallest building in the country and the highest outside the city of Lisbon

Being visible from any of the ten parishes of the county is a reference, not only geographical but also illustrative of development, work capacity and entrepreneurial spirit. It represents the transparency and openness of Local Government, the accessibility of the Municipal Council of Maia to citizens. This is an open and transparent workspace.

It was inaugurated on July 9, 2001 and its author Architect Antonio Machado

This attraction is not special by itself, with exception from the view at the top of the building. You can walk around the city center, see the square, the central park, stadium, etc... If you come by for an event in Maia, our you want to know the city, within the center you can enjoy a lot. Even to eat... More

I made a special trip to Maia and was disappointed the observation tower was closed on a Sunday. The outside of the building is missing a huge piece of siding and looks pretty tired. My guess the inside might need some work as well.

Imponent architecture, Maia ex libris is located next to the city hall and it's worth a visit to the higher levels.

The location is very good, just 100m from the Metro station. The tour guide described the history related with the tower as well as the city history itself. After that, we took the lift to the 19th floor where we were able to go outside to the roof and have a 180° view over Maia, Porto, Matosinhos, etc. It was... More

The very welcoming team took us up to the 19th floor where we enjoyed a 360 vision around Maia that overlooks beautiful landscapes, all the way down to the sea. It was also delightful to learn a bit more about the history of this land that goes all the way back to the very founders of Portugal. Definitely worth a... More
