Great place to visit if you love to eat fresh fish or sushi. Choose from a variety of welcoming shops and restaurants. Fish is also sold in this market but be sure to arrive early as the best fish tends to sell out early in the morning.

We made our way to the market to see the Tuna Auction by 2AM as it was busy season. While the first 120 visitors are split into 2 groups that visit the Auction at 5:15AM and 5:50AM, the last group to make it entered at 2:35AM. It is well worth it to make it early to see it. A couple... More

visited the place with my friends last March 2017. loved the food! we walked through the market and one can buy fresh catch for the day, and other market items; or even simply observe the activities at the market.

The Tsukiji Fish Market is a beehive of activity even at about 10 am, which is when we arrived there, We actually wanted to get to the fish auction, but we had been advised that we would have to wait from 2:30 am for admission at 5:30 am. This was deterrent enough for us. We are vegetarians, and have had... More

By now I think that most of the peoples who want to visit the Fish Market are aware that regarding tickets for the Tuna auctions only 150 can get lucky, but beside it is very interesting to go, specially with a guide, to show you the outside market, have lunch there, of course fish and seafood, good restaurants, then wander... Nice sort of old school market place to walk around, shop and get food. Known for it's Fish Market & auction. We went in afternoon so didn't experience the auction, but we enjoyed the market & shopping & ate some really good fresh fish!

This was a bustling and fun market at all hours of the morning, not just for the tuna auction or the 5AM rush to get into Sushidai or Daiwa Sushi. We got there at 9:00 AM and browsed the inner market. We found out that (as expected) the line for the two big places (Sushidai and Daiwa Sushi) were basically... More

Every one wants to come here, but unless you come to watch the tuna auction it's not really worth it. If you go, of course get a sushi lunch

The place is just like an ordinary fish market... And I don't get to see the Tuna Auction because it is temporary closed by government for tourist... So make sure you Cek the government website before you put this place in your itinerary... But the sushi restaurant in the market is great and fresh... Well.. It's a good experience..

We got up really early to line up for the fish auction at 4am. Only to be told that the tickets were already distributed at 2am! Since this is a busy, working market, i think they are trying to discourage visitors from forming huge lineups for the auction. In hindsight, I should have considered taking a private fish market food tour... More
