Although Skytree has become a relatively new entrant to the Tokyo skyline, I prefer the iconic Tokyo Tower. The views on a clear day are stunning and not to be missed.

Tokyo Tower is a "must visit" tourist attraction when you go to Tokyo, it's just like when you go to Paris, you must go to the beautiful Eiffel Tower. Tokyo Tower is gorgeous, especially during the evening with the lights on. To get up there, you will need to pay for the entrance fees and you can chill as long... More

Very very good. Good if you want to see some very cool and unbelievable views and buildings. The gift shop is also good.

We visited the tower at night and enjoyed the views and the atmosphere. When we visited we saw a live performance and a light show in the tower as well as experiencing incredible views of the city. There is a large area with multiple quality souvenirs. The eatery is great for families, because everyone can pick their own meal. There is... More

Tokyo Tower is a iconic center and one has to swing around it to appreciate the beauty of it in both daytime and evening time.

I and my mom visited in 2015 and I put it in as 2016 since it can't be found. The purpose to write this was I found this place really beautiful. I love Japanese Animation and we visited the Tokyo Tower to the top floor (peak) and also visited One Piece Museum. Trust me, you need more time as the... More

In Paris, the best views are of the Eiffel Tower; in Tokyo, great views are from Tokyo Tower. The lift takes you up to the viewing deck. The upper deck was closed when we visited, but I think the views may actually be better from the lower deck anyway. Do visit at night. You alight from the lift to be... More

Basically the very first destination I scheduled to visit in Japan was the Tokyo Tower. The view of the city from the higher levels of the tower was a great way to start our trip and get a great view of the new city and country we had arrived in. Pictures don't really do the view justice, go up and... More

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighbourhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
