There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.

Pretty average

Went here on a rainy day in Tokyo to kill some time. Despite being prepared for all the shows to be in Japanese, it was still kind of boring. The tech seems dated and very out of place for the futuristic-looking Shibuya area.

Staff were very friendly though and made an effort to explain the schedules.

Very dated and in need of an overhaul

I went to the Cosmo Planetarium with kids hoping to be dazzled. Instead I discovered a dated facility with all-analog projection and no programming to speak of other than a monochrome projection of stars with constellations superimposed. No planets, galaxies, nebula ... They don't even use music! My kids were not impressed at all and asked why I took them there. The staff are very kind and trying their best, but if you want to see how far behind Japan has fallen on technology, look no further than the Cosmo.

Quaint planetarium, all in Japanese, but what a great bargain
Mar 2017 • Family
My seven-year-old recently fell in love with planets so we made the journey to Cosmo Planetarium in Shibuya. We tried to walk there from a main walking street, but just couldn't figure it out, and eventually took a taxi. The building is actually a huge community center type of complex with different activities, with the planetarium on the top floor. The planetarium itself is all in Japanese - so if that bothers you, then don't bother. But wow, for about five u.s. dollars, and even less for kids, you enjoy a full hour of a show. the facilities are fairly small which make it quaint. we actually saw one of the more academic offerings which was kind of boring. however, they have four or five different shows every day and i think the other options are a bit more entertaining. We enjoyed getting away from the hustle and bustle of shibuya to chill in this place for a while. staff are very nice and accommodating, but again, essentially no English to be found - so figure out how to function once you get inside but it really shouldn't be a problem if you're patient. this isn't exactly a 'must do' in shibuya, but if you need to pass some time and have done everything else in shibuya, it's definitely worth a visit.

All in Japanese!

To be fair, they did warn us it was all in Japanese. We chose a programme which was set to music, hoping it would not matter, but there was still a lot of spoken word. However we could tell that the presenter was very enthusiastic!

The reclining seats are very comfortable and the imagery is good.

One of the relaxation place
Oct 2013 • Couples
I went to there with my boyfriend. Aspect of transportation, the station which is near to there is so crowded but transportation is very useful. You will walk a little and there is a steep rise in the road to get there. So I got tired a little bit but I was surprised that the facility of planetarium is so clean and also price is suitable and affordable. The atmosphere of planetarium is very romantic and comfortable. The planetarium is so fantastic because I have rarely seen such innumerable stars in the sky and we do not have a chance to see a lot of stars to busy. So I think it is a good way to relax or refresh. And comparatively, most of people who arrived there are couples so I recommend you to go there in a date. I will have a chance to go there again if possible.
