Very poor verity. Mostly tiny paintings. The outdoor exhibition is very poor. Waste of time. Was the worst of all museums we visited in Japan. Even commercial galleries we visited were dramatically much better.

Beautiful 1938 Wantanabi-designed Showa style building. I was not a fan of the particular show during our visit, but the building is worth a visit if you're into architecture at all.

I have to agree with the last reviewer. My wife and I visited while Hara's permanent collection was being exhibited and I can say unequivocally that it was the worst boutique art gallery we have been to in Tokyo. To add insult to injury, it...More

Well, it's 1,100 Y and u can tour it in 10 minutes. Literally a few rooms with maybe 4-6 pieces. Sculpture garden is an afterthought. Sodas are 6,500Y. Absolutely no reason to visit here not even for the architecture. Sorry, just being honest

This museum is walking distance to the Marriott where we were staying, and 15 minute walk from Shinagawa Station. It is in a building that was formerly a business tycoon's home. They have rotating exhibitions mostly of 20th century modernist artists as well as some...More

I saw a special exhibition--Nicholas Buffe, "The Dream of Polifilo." I loved the art. But for the admission, $11, I expect a little--no, a lot more. The "exhibtion" comprised several installations. That's it--several installations. Oh, and a few permanent pieces. The museum is small and...More

I'm no art expert, but I was more than impressed by the exhibits at this charming little museum. As the previous reviewers have mentioned, the space in this former residence has been very well utilised -it's got just the right amount of art, at the...More

This is the type of boutique art museum that you want to go when you are feeling introspective. It is small but located in a stunning piece of art deco architecture and holds just enough pieces of artwork so that one can see everything at...More

An unexpected mansion, a beautiful garden with sculptures, a place that you would dream to leave in! This confidential museum is a good way to get out of the dictates of a visit in Tokyo and discover unexpected artists. The curator proposes a high level...More

I gave this museum only an average rating because much of one's experience is based on rotating exhibits. It can be fabulous at times and lacking at other times. Do you research and find out what exhibits are being held prior to going. That being...More

In Shinagawa, an office district shares space with
luxury residential buildings and the scene is
constantly changing with rapid development. Ikedayama
park and Togoshi park are great places to see
beautiful traditional Japanese gardens with ponds, as
well as enjoy the changing seasons. Shinagawa was a
post and a port town during the Edo era and the lavish
old Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples at Shinagawa
