well, if you like the small stuff - macro .... Bunaken is the place to go ... for bigger stuff oder big group of fish that is really the wrong place

Wasn't expecting much and was blown away by the snorkeling. The water is perfectly clear and I saw 3 large sea turtles and a variety of fish and corals like I'd never seen before

Must pay annual marine park fees even if you go for one dive trip. All wall diving if that's what you like. For me I prefer the muck diving in Lembeh.

Well cared for, beautiful and untouched corals. Lots of turtles and small "stuff" Good snorkelling and great diving spots.

Really good snorkel. Amazing turtels, stingrays and thousands of different fishes. The problem is if they don't take about the amount of the one-day visitors (coming without knowing to swim, for instance), the reef is going to be spoiled soon.

As with any natural spots, your experience really depends on the weather and the environment in that day. We got some great clarity during our first couple of dives. But afterwards, we never got any good clarity. But in the general the water in Bunaken...More

Bangka is a lovely island and October is a good time to visit. The only month that is not good for diving and Snorkeling is August, because of large waves and a choppy sea.
