Hidden Wonder of the World

We took a trip to the Salt Mine when staying in Turda. It was a fantastic experience and something quite out of the usual ! Definitely worth the trip.

The place is Nice and you have a generous parking lot. The big minus is the elevator witch gets you inside the mine. It s a small elevator only FOR 5 persons - the line FOR the elevator is huge. Think that At the salt mine are coming crouds of visitors Vith busses an you must wayt FOR the single... More

From outside its nothing but when you enter inside you will not believe how big it is. There are a few step at the stair to come down to the center of the mine but its worth it.

A real big thumbs up to the people involved. The entrance and ticketing staff are really prepared for any crowd. There are also lockers to store your stuff before entering. What impressed me was the magnitude of it all,i have been also to Salina Praid(Praid salt mine) and i like it here better, because of the activities you can have...mini-golf and basketball... I was there for the 3rd time. And still is impressive. If you come here from Cluj-Napoca, and you don’t have a car, you can travel by microbus from “Mihai Viteazu” Square (Piata) in Cluj-Napoca. Every 15 or 20 minutes is a microbus available towards Turda. The price is 7 lei (1,50 euro) and it takes around 30-35 minutes. Ask... More

We visited this place early in the day to avoid the crowds. We are used to visiting mines so we expected stairs, and stairs we got! We didnt wait for the lift (which only takes 4 at a time) as the queue was so long, and walked down the stairs. The first impression was wow! it was amazing to see,... More

This is somewhere where you should visit. It's completely different to most tourist attractions and Great to see. I wouldn't go for the attractions unless you have small children but the experience

When you descend in the mine you will hardly believe the height of the chamber. The first elevator takes you down 13 floors, the next elevator has the same travel to the lake at the bottom. You have to walk the balcony that goes around at the top level. It is dizzying wooden board walk, you will feel the vibration... More

Great place to visit. We made a visit in September, on a nice warm day (aprox 25 C degrees), but be careful because once you enter down deep into the mine you will find out that there are more or less 11-12 C degrees. For kids it's like a small cold paradise - a lot of places were they can... More

Visited last week with my family . Very impressive place and massive . Not really an amusement park as we would know it but a great place to take young children although many stairs as the lifts are slow and small
