The Caunes Abbey is perhaps hot the most impressive but it is authentic and has recently undergone some traditional renovations. It is a bit off the normal tourist routes so almost never crowded and sometime you will have the place too yourselves. It usually has...More

We spent about an hour, touring the abbeys. We were lucky that the current art exhibit was Spirou, so the kids enjoyed that!

An interesting abbey but not that much to see. The church is beautiful on the inside. The grounds on the outside is not very well maintained.

This was actually a site that I seem to have liked better than my wife. In her journal, she wrote, "The Abbaye of C-M was small and very plain, including the cloister. We saw an art exposition of the French cartoon Boule & Bill. ....More

The Abbaye is quite lovely, with several levels -- including the original basement. There's also a marble museum inside. A nice diversion, easily done in an hour.
