My Husband thoroughly enjoyed the day. Very interesting exhibits with lots of effort evident from the Volunteers. Particularly enjoyed walking through Concorde. Not much choice of food and £2.20 is a bit steep for a cuppa.

went here today with friends: kids aged 6,9,11,13. Museum is housed in 8-9 hangers - some of them on one level, others with viewing galleries. Highlight of the day was watching spitfires take off and loop the loop....this was a normal Sunday, not an air show day. We found the layout really good, informative and the planes rather awe inspiring.... More

My husband and I had a fantastic day at IWM Duxford. It's well signposted and there's plenty of free parking. I pre booked our tickets online which saved a bit of time queuing and everyone is given a leaflet with a clear map. We stayed over 6 hours and still didn't see everything. There are 2 huge hangars filled with... More

As avid history buffs, we loved our visit to the Imperial War Museum. This historic airfield/museum is huge and the collection of aircraft housed here is mind boggling. We had time for only 4 hours but, had time permitted, could have happily spent an entire day here.

Had always fancied looking around and took the opportunity to arrange a short break to combine it with a visit to Cambridge. Completely blown away with the museum, which was much bigger than we had expected. Easily found, plenty of free parking and a very well laid out site. Lots of walking to do both around the displays and between... More

We spent a whole day here and did not manage to get all around the site. The site is enormous and very exposed ( I know its an airfield ) and the pathways and exhibit halls all have concrete floors so its hard on the feet so be prepared. The favourite parts as far as I was concerned was being... More

Visited with my 5year old son who loves planes. WE were not disappointed, there is so much to see, 8 hangars I think to visit. FOr us the best hangars were Airspace ( Concorde, Lancaster, Vulcan etc) and the American Hangar. MY son could only manage 4 hours there but an adult interested in planes could stay all day to... We used our Tesco clubcard points to get two adult tickets into Duxford and what a day we had, there was so much to see and do, we are going back again as we didn't get to see it all.

The IWM at Duxford is an absolute must for any aviation fan. Make sure you have a full day because you'll need it, the restoration hangers are incredible, the work those people put into what can start off as a pile of scrap and end up as a beautiful aircraft is a sight to behold. The American Air section is... More

What a Day Out and my feet are still hurting but had a ball enjoyed all the sheds full of aeroplanes and the information on each exhibit. Take your time you will need all day to see all of it and a lot of walking.
