About
The Castelvecchio Agricultural Estate is located in Terricciola, a hilltop village in the Tuscan province of Pisa which originated as an Etruscan hamlet settled over the Sterza waterway where the Era and Cascina valleys converge. The 59 acre (24 hectare) estate property is divided into land for sowing, olive and fruit groves, of which six are vineyard. The nucleus of the original estate, a charming farmhouse and its surrounding land, has been inhabited and cultivated by the Pantani family since 1956. Love for the land is something that is handed down from generation to generation. In 2002, Claudia, the youngest daughter, and her stone mason brothers and cousins decided to rally together to resume the cultivation of wine on their estate. The entire family got engaged in the enterprise, finding solutions to challenges and realizing the project together, with the labor of their own hands. The vineyard was planted and winery built, wooden doors hand-carved, and frames constructed for the cane mats to dry grapes for Vin Santo. Attention has been given to every last detail with dedicated family "know how" and loving care. Castelvecchio is the realization of a dream and the fruition of a passion. Our characteristic wines express our respect for the soil, the nature of our local traditions, and the dignity of our careful work in the vineyard and winery to create top quality wine.

Absolutely Worth The Visit
Sep 2020
This is just outside the beautiful town of Terricciola and easily accessible by car or bike. Set in a lovely valley the wine is fantastic as is Julia who took our wine tasting with us. We have done this twice and purchased crates of wine to be sent back to the UK. Which we have enjoyed immensely.
The wine is very very good as is the tasting experience, with their oil and Grapa but dont just taste, buy as well would be my advise. Lovely to have this now as our 'local' vineyard.

We visited the vineyard with our children. A great view while having some fantastic wines and some cheese/meat. Prices from 8 eur up per bottle. Very welcoming to children. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful!

This beautiful winery is our favorite in the area. We came across it by accident and it was a very fortunate accident at that. The wines are very good, and the hospitality is unmatched. You can tell this place is family run and that they care. The wine tasting is done on a patio with a lovely view of the surrounding Tuscan countryside. When we come back to Italy we will surely visit again.

Wine tasting!
Sep 2017 • Couples
We visited on the recommendation of our hotel. We could only taste the red but that didn’t matter. It was only us during our visit so we had plenty of time and were not rushed. This is a family vineyard. It was a great way of spending an afternoon. We saw deer running through the vineyard and the grapes air drying upstairs. We went home with a few bottles and drank one on Christmas Day to remind us of our Tuscan holiday.

Fast becoming a favourite
Aug 2017 • Friends
We have been here 4 times now and this is an excellent vineyard with terrific quality and value wines.
If you are in the area the a detour here is a must as these wines stand proudly against the best of there more famous and more expensive Chianti and Tuscan cousins.
Secret here is family passion and you can taste it.
The Balze is a fantastic wine and just Eu10 a bottle. The Colline is a spectacular Sangioviese as good as any and just Eu10 a bottle.
Hard to beat, and the friendly team are welcoming and engaging.
Must try - will buy!

Wine tasting - young organic vinyard
Aug 2017 • Family
We enjoyed a lovely impromptu tour (in English) of this young (in vineyard terms) family winery, and saw a little behind the scenes of the wine and vintage santo making process. We also tasted their white, rose, two reds (one blend) and their vin Santo - which is lovely.

Delicious wine tasting experience!
Jul 2017 • Couples
We recently visited Terricciola and came to the Castelvecchio vineyard which is situated on the wine road. We had a wonderful and informative tour with the owner who taught us about the production of the family's wine and showed us the vineyard and cellars. We then had a tasting of two reds, a white and a vin santo along with bread and olive oil, which the owner did not charge for, which was a very nice touch! The tasting is set on a few tables outside with a beautiful view and we really enjoyed it! We were only able to buy a couple of bottles due to suitcase restrictions but I would thoroughly recommend coming here and supporting this family business! They also seemed to offer antipasto lunches which looked delicious!

Lovely lunch and wine tasting
Jun 2017 • Couples
We visited for a lunch and wine tasting while we were staying in the area. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the lunch was delicious and the wines were all very nice. We tried all five wines - the white, two reds, a rose and a dessert wine - and had an informative explanation of each one from the host. We also got the chance to have a tour round.

The vineyard is set in the beautiful Tuscan countryside close to the centre of Terricciola. We had a great visit and would recommend if you're in the area.
