Went here today with my hubby (who uses walking sticks) and my sister in her late 60's. All started well we had a walk round the ruins and the gardens there and as my husband was struggling I suggested a coffee and sit down so that he could rest. There is a severe shortage of benches and seating around the... More

My wife and I spent the weekend in the area and saw this place so gave it a look. It was fairly quiet because if the threat of rain but that was to our advantage. The walks were extremely peaceful with only the birdsong for company winding through the woodland and around the picturesque lake. The house is all but... More

It's much more than you expect - and the impressive stone remains, court buildings and church (wow the ceiling!) are amazing. The gardens are a blaze of colour in May and the Perseus fountain which comes to the life at the top of every hour is a spectacle to marvel at. I immediately recognised the Court's pillar shell setting as... More

The façade looks great, but it is just the shell of a building destroyed by fire and vandalism. The real attraction is the gardens and grounds which seem to getter better as the years pass. On the hour the most magnificent fountain if the country is turned on for a few minutes and you must see this. It's a bit... More

Visit Witley Court & Gardens on a sunny day as this is when the ruin, fountain and gardens are their best. The house itself is just a shell and gives an idea of what a grand house would have been. The gardens though are beautiful and I have never seen so many Monkey Puzzle trees in one place before. The... More

Arranged a family day out with other members of our family on a bank holiday weekend. When we got there we were pleased to find out that it was a special events day so there was plenty to see for everybody & activities to keep everyone amused from re enactments, games, dress up. The castle was very interesting with plenty... More

Was not sure what to expect of Witley court and gardens but it was on our way home so we decided to pop in for a quick visit. As it turns out it has a great back story and while the building is really just a shell you still get a sense of its former grandeur. However, the garden is... More

We had an enjoyable visit to Witley Court last week using our English Heritage membership. What a stunning property it is there are images of its former Grandiose and it is tragic what happened. It is odd how the garden is so perfectly maintained and yet the house has no project to refurbish. Cost i suppose anyway we thoroughly enjoyed... More

We visited at the recommendation of the owner of our B&B and we were so glad that we took her advice. Witley Court is a ruin, but such an interesting one. It must been an amazing place before the fire destroyed the grandeur. Good audio tour which added to the interest factor. The fountain is impressive, even more so the... More

This was such an amazing Palace at one stage, it was a shame it was destroyed. If only this place could be funded for a full rebuild. The gardens are amazing for all ages but especially for the kids. It is definitely worth visiting. The little tea room by the church is lovely.
