A visit you will never forget. The Leopardi family runs the foundation and properties like if Giacomo and his family were still there. All you knew about the poet's life is probably determined by myths and partial truths..the guide will introduce you in a piece of Italian ancient history.

We came to the very pretty town of Recanati on purpose to visit the house of the great Italian poet. The Casa Leopardi is quite at the end of the old town, which means a long, most pleasant walk through the medieval streets, the walls tapered with poems from Leopardi. Unfortunately, the Casa closes for lunch for an hour and... More

Recanati is a beautiful town and well worth a visit. It's main claim to fame is the fact that the great Italian poet Leopardi was born here. We were really keen to visit here and learn more about Leopardi. The town was celebrating his birthday this weekend. When we arrived at the museum we were told there was no English guide. In the shop too no books were available in English so sadly we were left to rely on the Internet

You must visit this house of the great poet,Leopardi You can only visit it with a guide. Our guide was excellent and since we were the only English speaking guests, we were alone with the guide and she answered all or questions with intensive knowledge. It was amazing to see the great poet's library with 25,000 books. His family still... More
