Nascetta
Nov 2017 • Couples
Beginning of November, 2017. We visited the winery and tasted several wines in a cozy setting filled with positive mood. The discovery for us was the local, autochthonous - Nascetta. We brought home a bottle of it, along with some Dolcetto and Barbera. Six months later we opened the bottle and again were delighted - how good it is! Round taste of ripe, wild fruit, with the right amount of acidity to make you never want to stop drinking it. It is like drinking straight from nature.

The Nascetta of Ovaldo Barberis is a good representation of the experience there - spontaneous, curious, ripe and inspiring.

Great Little Winery
Nov 2015
Osvaldo's was the smallest of several wineries we visited on our trip. In a very casual atmosphere at his family run wineries' tasting room, Osvaldo proudly walked us through several of his current wines which paired well with the generously offered salumi and cheese. We also were treated to a special barrel tasting before finishing with an amazing nebbiolo. His wines are made from grapes from family vineyards passed down from generations. Really good quality at very reasonable prices.

Delightful experience
Sep 2015 • Friends
Osvaldo Barberis runs a small, family operation in the Valdibà subregion of Dogliani in the Langhe hills. Osvaldo grows Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo and Nascetta and he showed us around the winery and his wines with humble pride. Quietly spoken, down to earth and thoughtful winemaker. It was a pleasure for us to personally talk to an artisan winemaker who is extremely good at what he does.
An ad-on was the spectacular view of the rolling hills and Monforte from behind of his house. A delightful experience!
