The guide in the museum is very passionate about the history of the Battle of the Hurtgenwald. A lot of maps, wartime pictures, relics and other militaria related items can be found. Decent parking lot. Some books available in the shop.

If you love WW2 history and long ranging day hikes, the Hurtgen forest is your place. If you base in Simmonskall or Vossenack, you can't go wrong. It high overlooked by almost everyone and is a true gem. The museum, though, is rarely open, but...More

Very interesting museum. The displays are well thought out and well done. It is a museum where you can see things up close. Many, many items on display that I had only read about in books, such as potato grenades and other carious weapons. The...More

I was quite surprised how big this museum really is after seeing pictures of the outside. You can easily spend 2 hours looking at all the war artifacts. Worth the visit!

We planned our arrival for a Sunday afternoon when the museum was open. For those with an interest in the battles in Hurtgenwald/Vossenack, good exhibits. Only problem is that the videos are only in German.
