Take the bus to Guatape (COL 13,500 one way) and stop at Piedra Penol. A tuktuk costs COL 5,000 - 10,000 to get to site entrance. Then prepare for beautiful views as you climb 740 steps in about 30 minutes. Will be challenging if you...More

Scaling La Piedra is a tiring, strenuous hike up 675 steps to the top, but it's worth it for the view. It took us 25 minutes, stopping at nearly every landing to catch our breath, then one final push to the top. Once you reach...More

740 steps to the top but worth the effort for the view. Plenty of areas to take a break along the climb and food at the top

The view is amazing. I’ve been there 3 times and even though there are 740 stairs to the top balcony, the view is worth the effort ! Highly recommended !

A great tourist attraction near Medellin... Climbing the 700+ stairs is an experience you won't forget but the view from the top and during the almost ladder like climb is worth it :)

Guatape is just beautiful and climbing Piedra el Penol a highlight of the day here. It's a tough-ish slog, especially with the altitude, but helpfully the step numbers are painted on, so you know how far you have to go! And the views at the...More

No need for a tour guide. This is easy to do yourself with a bus just outside of Caribe station. The stairs are a challenge but not impossible - the views are worth it. There are cafes at the top serving cold beer with baby...More
