Only 3km away from the centre of Zabljak, Malo (Small) and Veliko (Big) Lakes merge into Crno (Black) Lake. This lake is specific for its dark blue shade of water, which often seems black, and the effect is created by the Lake's depth and the dense Durmitor pine forest surrounding it.

Beautiful, peacefull nature around this, emerald-green lake is just breathtaking! Amazing symphony of colors and freshness in the air. You would wish to sit by this lake for hours. You can rent a boat or walk around it, or just simply choose a bench and enjoy yourself.

A peaceful place where you will enjoy in beautiful nature and wildness. A breathtaking view on Međed peak and lake will make you feel like you are in Canada. Black Lake is the premium tourist attraction of the Durmitor area. It is the largest and the best known of 18 glacial lakes on the mountain. The lake is easily accessible,... More

If you are somewhere near Zabljak, you should definitely visit Durmitor National Park and Crno Lake. It's just breathtaking nature. If you are in a hurry you don't have to worry, cuz it's a really short walk from parking lot. Definitely bring a camera with you, if you like to make some stunning photos.

One of the many glacial lakes in Durmitor NP, black lake is surrounded by some high peaks. It's a short walk from the parking area. You find a restaurant at the shore and you can hire boats. There is an easy walk (with a few climbs) around the lake. The total length is 3,5 km but there is a shortcut.... More

We did a four hour hike from our hotel (Soa) through the forest and visited both Crno Jezero (Black Lake) and Zminje Jezero (Snake Lake). We had pretty damp weather at the time, making the hike through the forest very muddy and slippery at times. This was the only time during our two week trip to Montenegro that I wished... More

The Black Lake isn't that black. Or, at least, it wasn't when we went. Also the weather wasn't brilliant, dull and overcast, so I suppose that spoilt the impact a bit. But it was OK. Having seen loads of lakes (and there are loads of lakes in Montenegro, I would not have put this near the top but that's just... More

We walked around the lake. It is beautifull. It was a quite day and that was nice. We enjoyed the silence. To get into the park you have to pay 3 euro pp. And 6 euro for a three day pass wich give you acces to the entire national park

I think my title says it all, it's a lovely lake and quite clear. It was cloudy when we went and as previous reviewers have said please wear good shoes. Well marked trail and some good woodland but I think Biogradska was just a bit better. The parking is good and the people sell good fruit and honey on the... More
