We visited when there was snow on the ground in December. The scenery is breathtaking. If you are in the area. Well worth a visit. It's a few minutes walk from the square in Montgomery.

Enjoyed some time here with the family. Free to enter and some stunning views. Information boards provide some interesting info. Not too busy which was nice. Worth a visit but won’t take up too much of your day.

Brilliant and spectacular views, free admission. Very steep walk if you park in the village, but there is a small car park next to castle. (9 or 10 cars)

Lovely home cooked cake and good quality ingredients make this a good stopping off point for coffee cake and or quiche etc. Court yard garden at the rear is pleasant with a grapevine for shade.

It is a steep climb of 500 yards to the car park from the town but half way up there is a footpath to the right that takes you to the lower reaches of the castle. Turn left just before the Dragon Hotel if you take the car... More
