We waited for at least 30 minutes before we saw some 30 penguins coming to shore. Well organised by the group to divide the attendees to smaller groups. All should have seen them that evening

This is a very personable tour. I think that day to day experiences would differ, however we got to have the penguins walk right past our feet. They were adorable. The guides were lovely and tolerant of our toddler who decided he'd had enough the...More

Loved this visit to Low Head Penguin tours. I had reservations about going on this tour as the penguin numbers are down in April, but it was really super. We were split into small groups and assigned to guides and taken to the beach to...More

I would consider our visit to the colony one of the highlights of our trip to Tasmania. The staff is very knowledgeable and went out of their way to position us for the best and safe interaction with the penguins. We were able to get...More

My 5 year old is penguin obsessed so we could not miss the chance to see some penguins up close and we were not disappointed. It was a special experience seeing penguins coming in to the beach and then marching up the dunes within touching...More

Up close with the penguins. And the guides are very knowledgeable, showed us the burrows and their chicks. Quite an experience.

Well organised and able to get close to the penguins. A beautiful way to view part of their daily routine and see them close up. Really pleased that they are being run by a company so that the penguins are not hurt/damaged in any way....More

In general the tour is an excellent chance to see little penguins up close and to learn about them. Definitely better that the arena-like show at Philip Island. Still, we didn't fully like the way it's run. At the beginning all the visitors for the...More

Does anyone knows which bus/coach to take from Launceston to Low Head? I saw that Lee Coaches provides Launceston to Low Head transport but there is no service from Low Head to Launceston after the penguin tour ends. Or is anyone going to this tour on 5 or 6 May 2017? If there are min 2 people, we could probably get a coach or something. Siok Hui

Can I know what is the temperature like in September? How long is the wait (approximately)? Reason for asking is because I am planning to visit with young children. Thank you.

Our temperature in September could still be cold we suggest at all times of the year to dress warm for our penguin tour. Our tour goes for just over 1 hour
