Have canoed two sections of the river this week. First trip was from Aregntat to Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne and covered 18km of wooded valley. Second day we opted for a 9km trip from Vayrak to Gluges. The second day was through different terrain with more cliffs and longer stretches of flat water. We used Safaraid kayaks and their service was excellent with... More

We went with Safaraid, there were 13 of us in an age range of 7 to over 70. We had two dogs too and all had a great time. I suggest leaving your car at the end, that way you can get to your destination at any time, so no pressures.

We came across this small company in Pessac by chance and booked an 8km paddle in a kayak starting at 11am. They offer the choice of 8KM or 15 KM at 14 and 18 Euro each respectively (July 2016) and leave every hour from 1000 to 1600 ( 8K) or 1000 to 1300 (15K). My wife and I booked the... More

Amazingly beautiful, dramatic scenery all the way, this boat trip was very relaxing, and we got quite a lot of information, from the guide on board, would very much recommend this trip for all ages .

We stayed near Soulliac, which is a nice small town. We went on a trip in 2 man open canoes from Meyonne to Soulliac (18k) it took us about 3.5 hours with a stop to have lunch and skim stones. We did use Copeyre from Soulliac and found them fine. Typically French they don't offer any frills, you just have... More

If you are travelling to France, this area is not to be missed. The River winds along gorgeous valley's and past Castles. We took a boat ride and it was just so picturesque. Highlight of our trip.

We were dubious about canoeing the distance, fearing rapids and other unknowns although we were canoeists. The River was clear, shallow in spots and gently floated us down for several hours. We stopped midway for a picnic and carried on under five bridges, many chateau sights, spotted a heron and other birds and generally spent a wonderful bright sunny day... More

We booked a 5 hour trip from Argentat to Beaulieu sur Dordogne in low water conditions. ABC canoe (just to the right of the bridge in Beaulieu) were laid back and appeared disinterested in our business. Looking back I don't know why we bothered with them. They were late leaving the site to take us to the start. I am... More

This large river is slow and lazy. That's why, if you see its design on a map you will notice the huge number of S it has drawn on the ground. It's the ideal place to go for a day trip just to enjoy the surrounding peace and calm with the company of many wild birds.
