We rented a Vision SL4 from Le Boat for 2 families of 4. We started off at Trebes, close to Carcassonne and finished at Narbonne. We rented the boat for a week. First of all, the vision is a big boat - clearance under some of the bridges was less than a foot - quite scary! But with the joystick... More

Fantastic week on Beatrice. Highly recommend, just four of us with fantastic crew Jean François, Michel and Gwen. This is our second time aboard this beautiful barge and the canal du midi has stunning views and so many places to visit and discover. The food was gourmet, the staff were so lovely - friendly, warm, calm. What a great vacation!!!... More

The Canal du Midi is a gorgeous manmade waterway leading boats, hikers, and bikers through some of France's most storied lands and cities. There is good food, great and inexpensive wine, and so much beauty. From Toulouse to Sete you can easily cycle in 6 days, as we did. But it would be even better to do this in 10,... More

Three couples (Tasmania, UK, Guernsey) did full researched and met up in France to undertake this trip from Trebes to Narbonne. 2 days before joining the boat the start base was moved from Trebes to Castelnaudary which meant our trip would be unworkable due to the increased distance and number of additional locks. The boat supplied was badly damaged, had... More

We rented a 36 ft.cruiser for two couples from a company called Le Boat for a 14 day trip starting at Port Cassafieres to Castelnaurdy. This was a leisurely trip to the west, stopping daily at small villages to buy baggets/croissants, cheeses, etc. for breakfast. We wandered into the village markets to shop for supplies for our dinners or variably... More

We took a multi generation family group on a week long trip through the canal and loved it. Most of us are pretty comfortable handling boats, but there were still many times our mini barge was tricky to handle. The company we rented from, le boat, was amazing. They expected questions from novices, were always on hand to help, and... More

There is no better way to appreciate a more diverse range of landscapes, except for cycling, but here we are sans saddle-sores, ensconced on the Alegria, a lux barge that offers an intimate level of comfort that has a differential vis-a-vis the other barges plying their wares along the canal. That difference is that this craft has a shortened width... More

Hired a boat in for the last week in October. Set off from Port Cassafieres up to Homps and back. Very quiet but beautiful countryside and wildlife. Used Le Boat and had a Cirrus B boat. No problems with boat, 2 adults and a child. Would not try to get anymore on board. No bedding or towels for the 3rd... More

Early October hire which was perfect weather wise as not too hot & we had a Penichette 1020 with side thrusters - 2cabin/2bathroom- perfect for 2 couples. Unfortunately we were held up leaving Lattes due to repairs so instruction was minimal on way to lock which very near closed we were so late. That was the only slight negative as... More

We travelled from the Locaboat base at Negra to Argens-Minervois on a Locaboat 1106 FB. This is the smallest Penichette with the flying bridge steering position - Locaboat still rate it as a Classique, because it doesn't have bow thrusters. The trip from Negra-Argens can be done in 7 days but we took 10 as I'd read other posts here... More
