The falls are nice but not amazing. This was second of two destinations on our day trip so this was a disappointment. The falls are not that large but it is in a wild area. The were locals there along with our bus full of tourists and then another bus later arrived. A set of male female toilets for $1... More

This waterfall was stunning! I went suring Semana Santa so it was crowded but with a small donation and parking fee its worth the steep trek down to the falls because its like a little piece of paradise! You can swim under the falls or climb behind it. You can make a day of it or an hour if you... More

Llanos de Cortez is about 30 minutes from Liberia. If you're staying in Papagayo, Hermosa, Coco, or Liberia it's worth the short drive. Entrance is by donation and parking is free. This is probably the most affordable attraction in Costa Rica :). It is approximately a ten minute hike to the waterfall. It is a moderate hike for small children... More

We stopped by this GORGEOUS waterfall on the way to Arenal while trying to escape the daunting masses that had taken over the coast for Semana Santa. I should have had the forethought to realize the waterfalls would be just as insane and crowded, but I didn't! There were tents, beds, and people in every square inch of the falls... More

Stunning waterfall. A short walk down from the bumpy parking area opens up to this beautiful area that is well visited by locals. There is a path that leads behind the waterfall enabling you to climb over a few rocks and jump through the falls themselves. Amazing. There is also a beach with the option for sun and shade. We... Came on a day trip from tamarindo to the waterfall with a few travelers that were staying at the hostel. Definitely worth the 1.5 hour drive. All highway and mostly locals hardly any tourists. Make sure to bring cash with you as it's a donation to get in to the waterfall, a donation to park and a donation to use... More

We stopped around 430pm and were approached by a large group of locals offering to give us a guided hike/tour around the top of the falls, through a stream, to a second waterfall, etc. I hadn't read any reviews about this but trusted "Jordan" and he was great. He was very helpful and went off the "trail" to get close-up... More

Definitely go early before all the crowds start with tour busses. Hidden lagoon at the top for awesome cliff diving. This was a great experience. Add to your list of Costa Rica must dos!

We stayed close by at Hotel Posada Llanos del Cortes and did an early morning walk to the falls. It was beautiful and we had the falls all to ourself, nice. Later the busses start to arrive and lots of people come.

We did this tour on the same day as Rio Celeste. The falls were beautiful. There were stairs but not as many as Rio Celeste Morgan at Native's Way has this package together. Great day. No rain this location. Lots of locals you'll get a great vibe!
