Great powder skiing, no crowds, no lift queues

We skied 4 days out of 8, the slopes were uncrowded and we never had to queue for lifts (we did see a long queue for the gondola one morning but didn't join it!) Lift passes are... read more

We skied 4 days out of 8, the slopes were uncrowded and we never had to queue for lifts (we did see a long queue for the gondola one morning but didn't join it!) Lift passes are electronic RFID cards so you need a pocket in your left glove / left sleeve or buy a pass holder in the terminal... More

We went early in the season (between Xmas and NY) and there wasn't a lot of snow so it was pretty disappointing as there was still a LOT of people on mountains which only had a few runs open. This wouldn't have been too bad if the lifts and ticket sales offices etc were staffed appropriately and you didn't have... More

Hakuba is the most magical village in the winter. The local Japanese people are extremely polite and fun to party with. The powder is so soft best you will ever find. Night skiing is so much fun, I use d the Company Evergreen for my snow boarding lessons, they were amazing, very patient and helpful! I'd recommend the burger joint... More

Good facilities and a beautiful place to visit for boarding or skiing. One negative... the place is quite spread out, there are busses around, but can be quite a pain for the amount of people around.

We visited Hakuba mid February to snowboard. It was a 1.5 hour Shinkansen train ride (to Nagano from Tokyo) plus a 1.5 hour bus ride from Nagano. Very easy to get to. The snow was plentiful, the area was so picturesque! It had lots of ski/snowboard shops and souvenirs. There are different activities going on throughout the year so keep... More

Initially we planned to visit Monkey Park, but due to heavy snowfall it was closed and the information centre in Nagano suggested Hakuba as a daytrip for us. We were not that excited in the beginning since none of us ski or snowboard, but thought it is still worth to visit the old winter Olympic site. The bus ride up... More

Learning to snow board at Hakuba was a joy, but this time the snow only stopped for 2 days out of a 8 days. I recommend Hakuba lots of snow and lots of resorts to ski. If you are going to book a trip I recommend using Japan Powder used them twice. The first time I used their hotel and... More

Had an amazing holiday staying in the Wadano area of Hakuba at the awesome Gakuto Villas. Hakuba is a quaint, picturesque & pretty village with a range of accommodation options to choose from. There are lots of wonderful restaurants (good idea to book ahead) & the night shuttle bus makes getting home very easy. All level of skiers are catered... More

This is our 4th ski holiday in Hakuba in the last 5 years. There is an extensive number and variety of slopes to cater from beginners to expert skiers and snowboarders. There is also a large variety of Japanese and non Japanese high quality restaurants. Access from Tokyo airport is easy. Definitely recommend the place.

Hakuba has beautiful mountains, especially with good kind people. In summer is a fantastic place for trekking, cycling, biking rafting etc. In winter is a wonderful place for skiing. There are many international restaurants and great hotel, like Shakespeare Hotel! Such a lovely little village full with love and fun!!
