I am not a big aquarium fanatic but this place is amazing. The main tank is at least 150' by 150' and 40' tall. It is so big, there are two whale sharks swimming inside the tank. You can view the fish from three sides. There are many other fun exhibits but this is the prize. The aquarium sits on... More

We have been to some aquariums around the world and this is good but not the best. The area includes many things to do but the big aquarium was outstanding. Visiting the flower garden is a must to.

Whale sharks, rays and a host of other sea creatures offer a peaceful glimpse of what the Okinawan waters hold. The aquarium is smaller than I expected but you can be entertained for a good half day. The majestic whale sharks definitely are the star attraction. We've been twice and it's definitely better, crowd-wise, to go early in the morning... More

A fascinating visit. The first time I have seen illuminating fish anywhere. The shark exhibition and the main aquarium were fantastic.

Before heading to Okinawa, we stopped at the Osaka Aquarium, so we had good grounds to compare the two. While smaller and offering less species of every class, Churaumi has a whole slew of species that are only found on site, as they are comprised predominantly of local species of Flora and Fauna. The main attraction, of course, is the... More

Great experience, and very well organised. The giant aquarium with whale sharks and manta rays is mesmerizing. We especially enjoyed having iced coffee in a cafe just by the giant tank, with whale sharks floating by. The park outside is very nice as well. We all had good time.

Just a really great aquarium experience overall. Very clean and organized. Happy start to the aquarium with a free family photo. The giant whale shark is RIDICULOUSLY big and really cool to see up close. I really enjoyed being able to walk around on the 4th floor above all the tanks and see a bit of the behind-the-scenes stuff. Dolphin... More

Hit some rainy weather one day & decided to go to aquarium. It was a great experience. Many sea animals I've not seen at other aquariums (all in US). Giant whale shark is amazing. Also was able to "play" with dolphins in their outdoor tank. Not to be missed

The Aquarium is great with a huge tank containing two whale sharks among hundreds of other fish and ray species. Also have a manatee tank, sea turtle area and dolphin area with shows. Also within the park is a site with typical village housing from the 14th century, all have some explanation in english. There is also gardens and an... More

We bought the entrance tickets not at the aquarium but at a shop outside which cost 10% cheaper. In my opinion, the real attraction at the aquarium is really the 2 whale sharks in the big tank. Other than that, the other exhibits are pretty ordinary. The aquarium itself is not that big and hence it doesn't take more than... More
