The ruins are on top of a hill and after walking a path lined by trees you would reach the stone walls, well-constructed but unless you are particularly fascinated by those walls there would not be much else that would be of interest.

I urge you to visit this attraction. Beautiful trees to the castle. A good tourist attraction. Parking is easy. The coffee shop opposite entrance also worth a stop.

This is a UNESCO world heritage site. Admission is free and there are plenty of parking space for those who drive (GPS coordinates: 26.406487,127.74239). Road is also nicely paved which makes a relaxing stroll. It is a nice and tranquil place for sightseeing as the foundation of the stone wall ruins are well-preserved. Climbing to the highest point of the... More

Zakimi Castle, or Zakimijoshi is the ruin of a castle built during the Ryukyu Kingdom (if I'm not wrong). It was well restored. If you like heritage, this is a place that you should not miss. If you like sight-seeing, this place would not disappoint you as you can have scenic view at the top of the castle. It is... More

If you are in Okinawa you really need to see the castles. This ruin is a nice little hike to the top and is frequently busy. Amazing the strength of this construction considering the areas propensity for earthquakes and typhoons.

This is a nice area to walk around. The top wall of the castle is a great place to look over Yomitan. Very peaceful. I suggest you visit the museum we enjoyed looking at the artifacts and learning the history of Yomitan.

The family visited this UNESCO site after work. There are two entrances and the museum is closed on Monday. One of a handful of castle ruins we have enjoyed. It is free and lots of opportunities for pictures.

Nice paved areas to walk. There are restrooms nearby. The view from the ruins are great. Must visit the museum that was interesting regarding the history.

Worth a stroll but not that great. There were a few picture opportunities and some history detailed in the plaques.
