Very small historical home and well worth visiting. Remember to remove your shoes once you enter the home. The signs requesting this are very small. The staff is great and we enjoyed the free tea and brown sugar candy after our walkthrough.

No much to see, only an old house of a rich farmer, in very good shape. The best, I guess, was getting free tea and brown sugar jelly on the gift shop, such nice people!

I just loved this old building full of history! We were told the tour will cost 500¥and wouldn't take more than 20min. Well, we were there for more than 30 minutes and loved everything.

The Nakamura house displays traditional Okinawan architecture in an easy to understand way. The house had to respond to hot humid weather (and withstand frequent typhoons) before there were electric fans and air conditioning. Every element, from the design of the roof, the layout of...More

This house was designated a Major Cultural Asset by the Government of Japan and touring it will help you understand why. The entrance fee of 500 yen seems a bit high so, it's a good idea to take your time and learn as much as...More
