A massive Buddha statue! This is slightly outside of Hakata city so had to take the metro to get here. It was worth it. You could hike up the place and get a really good view of the city.

One of the most memorable experiences in Fukuoka! While the Reclining Buddha actually depicts Buddha nearing death, it still exudes great tranquility and even joy.

Just less half an hour train ride, you will get to enjoy the peacefulness here. The reclining Buddha is spectacular. This less known place helps to maintain the serenity.

What a beautiful and serene place...There are 88 temples in the area with the big attraction being the reclining Budda. The place is a short train ride from Fukuoka and it is a must see if you are ever in town.

I think you can still go there earlier. You can still roam around the area, I think. Its never a problem, if waiting is not an issue to you.
