We walked around the gorge via the trail, and hiked for some steps to reach the Takachiho Shrine. The place was tranquil. There was a big tree with a myth that walking around it three times would bring you good marriage. Otherwise not very special...More

The shrine is surrounded by many tall old trees and the area is very quiet which made you feel very serene and peaceful. It's a small shrine but it's still worthwhile for a stop and on a nice day, I highly recommend taking a hike...More

The old trees around the shrine give it a very serene feel to the area. Late autumn to early winter session, is a good walk with the family, just to have some inner peace.

Just went to the hour long dance. It was interesting for first 2 minutes and then really boring. I think the Japanese found it ok for a bit however and may like it but for westerners it was really long and not worth your time.

Was a nicely presented/kept shrine with many noteworthy aspects. No English documentation unfortunately but worth seeing if in the area.

This shrine has a lot of big trees so it is nicely shaded. It is one of the most peaceful and nice shrine I've been to especially during the hot summer weather!
