Stunning treat that came out of nowhere.

Loved biking this bridge from both directions. Sadly Mt Taranaki was shrouded on cloud so couldn't make that perfect photo.

It is a magnificent achievement in bridge technology, really good and unique shape bridge. Perfect bridge at the unusual location, yes it is at coastal walkway but a bit too far from city centre, 4.5 km from the very popular Windwand. Either visit this bridge simply by car, or just walking along the coastal walkway, which is OK if not... More

The bridge gives you the right spot for a perfect picturesque photo with mount taranaki. The architecture too of the bridge is quite amazing in the shape of a shell / scallop. The views from the coastal walks of the bridge and the Mount are just perfect. Must visit.

I had seen photos of this bridge, but it is much better up close! On a fine day there are amazing photo opportunities of Mount Taranaki. There were lots of whitebaiters in the area and it was a great place to visit.

we hit new plymouth with lousy weather and had no idea how majestic MT Taranaki/Egmont was. Our hotel manager suggested this the next day when the weather was great. It is on the Coastal Walkway, so I would make this something to see if/when you walk the walkway. It is east - to the right as you face the Tasman... More

We were told by a local to check out this bridge. It's certainly an interesting bridge and the surrounding park and beach provide a great setting for a day of fun with family or friends.

I went just after sunset on a mostly clear night - this setting is incredibly beautiful in every way. Well worth the 4.5k walk from the town centre. After crossing the bridge, you get a perfectly framed view of Mt Taranaki in one direction, and the last orange clouds reflecting off the water in the other. The bridge itself is... More

This is a remarkably beautiful, architecturally unique bridge that is build to frame the perfectly formed Mt Taranaki volcano. While the mountain is often shrouded by clouds, when you get a clear day like we did, this is an essential walk to take and an iconic New Plymouth sight. Not to be missed!

Stunning bridge with Mt Egmont being in the perfect location for taking some great photos. Lovely part of the walkway with the beach nearby. Nice relaxing spot to stop and enjoy.

Stunning - a piece of engineering or a piece of art - who cares, it's pretty neat. We cycled on a nice day and got some great photos of the mountain in the background - through the wave of the bridge. This is well worth the effort to view on the cities coastal walkway.
