The road from Souillac gets worse and worse as, hopefully having followed some small homemade signs, you get closer to the falls. The last few hundred metre descent is treacherous. Single track, lots of mud and lots of rocks - and don't forget what you have to negotiate going down.....you have to renegotiate going back up! If you can work... More

What a hidden gem. Beautiful and relaxing. You can even have a swim, and if you are daring and brave enough have a dive just like the locals. Although we only took our shoes off sat on the rocks and watch the locals dive off rocks and trees. Had an amazing day.

Once we finally found the falls .... ( go to Souillac and then there are a few cardboard signs that point the way. You can drive to the falls but the road is a track with huge potholes. We were only in a Hyundai Accent and that copped ok) We were jumped on by a local that took us down,... More

Hidden in the backwoods off the Souillac to Chemin Grenier road follow the hand written red paint written signs and its quite easy to find. Interesting rock formations, easy parking although the dirt track is quite challenging, but worth the visit.

Rochester Falls is in the south of the island. The cliff face has been has been transformed into jagged rectangular blocks by the force of powerful water over hundreds of years. The contrast between the black of the granite rock and the white of the falling water makes this truly spectacular....it's a quiet place. It doesn't get as many visitors... More

This place is little hard to find but worth visiting. We went by taxi even though we had taken a self driven car. It's really scenic. Do take a dip. You may also find a guy showing off his skills by jumping from a tree above the cliff right into the water from insane height.

Encompassed in a beautiful scenery, the falls are situated in the District of Savanne. The road to this not very rugged but once the place is spotted, it's totally serene. There is no direct path that leads to the falls. One will have to climb down the rocks and through a rugged stretch. We had our 5 yr old and... More

Rochester falls is a must if you like the outdoors, however depending on the time you visit it could be very muddy and slippery, wear comfortable and sturdy shoes. there is a bit of walking involved going down a little hill. but once you get to the falls it is really worth it, Lava flow dating several thousands of years...
