Instead of being laid out as a temple within a temple within a temple, this site more linear. It has, I think, 5 temples laid out in a line going up the mountain. It's very nice, pleasant, and attractive. Very worthwhile visiting.

Just giving people a heads up before riding up the mountain from the ticket office. As you may know, there are two types of vehicles that will transport you up the mountain: either a motorbike or a 4-wheel drive (both will have a driver that...More

Having visited Angkor watt a number of times it was fantastic to see this beautiful temple situated on the Thai border. What amazing views and the incredible history. Well worth the trip.

-had heard about Angkor Wat for ever, but not this temple complex, which is in a different style and far away anyway. Main reason has probably been that until about 10 years ago the area had been in a war zone between Cambodia and Thailand....More

I stayed at Prasat Preah Vihear for four hours, loving the mist covering ruins, savoring the fresh mountain air, and enjoying the gorgeous views. Most people skip this temple because it is too far away and expensive to visit by private taxi, especially for a...More

I visited the temple in March with some Khmer friends. It had been on my bucket list and someplace I’d long wanted to visit, but it’s a trek from Siem Reap, probably 3-4 hour drive to get to the entrance. The fee for entry was...More

After a 4 to 5 hour drive from Siem Reap, we arrived early in the morning, at the base of the mountain where the temple is located. Using local transport we drove up the mountain. Then after a walk up a number of wooden steps...More

This temple was a disappointment. It is not well preserved (many of the temples surrounding Angkor Wat are in a much better shape), there aren't many interesting carvings and you cannot really appreciate the temple and the view at the same time which to me...More

I seem to recall this is not possible. Cambodia and Thailand have fought battles over this site. Right now it is cut off from Thailand.
