Very nice destination for nature lovers. I have been to Bandipur, Nagarahole, Mudumalai and many other national parks and tiger reserves, but this seems quite different. Unlike the other places here no traffic, not many people to disturb the nature. Me and my friend reached around 5 a.m. the forest check post opens at 6 a.m sharp. They will ask... More

This is a better sanctuary to visit for both tigers and other animal sightings such as Dholes, Gaurs, large varieties of birds and also a family of black bucks just outside the sanctuary.

BRT is off the main circuit of Bandipur-Kabini-Masinagudi, ensuring that it is not crowded with safari vehicles. The price point gives you the flexibility to go to one of the resorts just for unwinding, and skip the jungle safari. The jungle in itself is dense, and has a relaxing influence. If going for safari, watch-out for the wide range of... More

My second visit to Bandipur wildlife sanctuary was on 29-30 of this July. On my safari and at my hotel I had the chance to share the disappointment of many co-visitors. On 30th morning I ventured for an early morning trekking and the result was no better. What anyone could see even by passing through the Mysore - Ooty road... More

A good place to hide out from busy working schedule. Deer , wild dogs and elephants can be spotted . Resorts are very costly ..

Now here is a tiger reserve, where safari tracks don't have any pug marks and neither do the trees have territory marks..!! So, one is really left to wonder whether you are actually going for safari(s), or being taken for a ride? Some enthusiasts claim to have seen leopard pug-marks, but then who knows !!

Even though it is said tiger reserve forest; many of them done safari has not seen any tigers or leopards or rare wildlife. Hence we skipped. Instead if you go from Ooty side by car, you can enjoy Nilgiri hills view + waterfalls and entering Bandipur forest area we have seen deers, elephants, peacocks, money, kingfishers.

Only one zone within BRT is open for safari and this zone has been overrun by wild lantana grass thereby making big wildlife sightings rare - we spotted deer (spotted and barking), mongoose, gaur (wild bison) but no elephants or tigers. However, the drive itself is great and the lush green forest gives you a great sense of calm and... More
