Dongjiang Lake, Zixing County, Hunan Province, is 280 meters above sea level , and classified by China as a National five-star tourist attractions. There is state ecological protection over the area. Only a few boats are allowed to adorn the lake for tourists to take photographs.
The lake waters are clear, calm, peaceful, and drinkable. The water quality meets the state-level requirement for human consumption.
After a brief rain, the air seems fresher than ever.
We got up early in the morning to watch the boat with the burning light.
Great scenic water and mountain views in all directions.
We came to Dongjiang Lake after our sightseeing in Gao Xiling, Chenzhou, Hunan Province.

The lake is surrounded by a green mountain range. Many paths to hike with wonderful scenic views, waterfalls etc. You should take a boat trip to Doushuai Island with its famous karst cave.

Don't miss this if you ever go to Chenzhou. From Chenzhou West train station, take a taxi or private car. Takes about an hour and RMB150, along the scenic river.
The lake is serene, calm, quiet with an amazing backdrop of mountains. There are 2-3 hotels near the lake. I stayed in the last one on the right hand side, which did not have an English name. A nice, clean, family-owned hotel. The owners and staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Nice boat trip. Can go to the caves on the island. Takes around 45 mins. Can go on the top deck.
